Rina Sudo

Piano artist, winner of many national and international competitions

Rina was born in Chiba City in 1987. When she was 5 years old, he moved to Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, and started playing the piano.

At the age of eight, she performed Mozart’s concerto with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Naozumi Yamamoto at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, which was well received.

Since childhood, she has achieved excellent results in domestic and international competitions. 1st prize at the 2nd Yasuko Fukuda Award Selection Committee, 4th Prize at the 5th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, Japanese highest and youngest 5th prize at the 7th Dublin International Piano Competition (Ireland), and many others, achieving high awards in numerous competitions.

Many co-stars collaborations with orchestras, such as NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Japan Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, Aichi Central Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Krakufu Chamber Orchestra (Poland), etc.

She is frequently invited as a soloist of major orchestras in Japan and abroad. She has performed in numerous recitals and concerts in Italy, New Zealand and throughout Japan and has been well received.

In 2009 Rina released an album “Rachmaninoff “The Joy of Love” / Debussy “Island of Joy”.

In 2014 Rina gave a World premiere of Adagio Amoroso by Marius Herea in Tokio, Japan.

She has also received the Utsunomiya City Citizen’s Award, the Utsunomiya City Mayor’s Special Award, and the Kawasaki City Azalea Brightness Award.

Graduated from the Academy of Piano Arts at Showa Music University. She studied with John O’Connor and Fumiko Eguchi.
